REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS
Replacement of filter elements at pipeline compressor facilities (Houston Pipe Line (HPL), Tejas Gas) – Developed a proprietary process to remove filters contaminated with pyrophoric compounds. The filter elements are used to remove particulates and liquids in the gas stream. After removal of the treated filter elements, the filter housing is decontaminated and new filters installed.
Pigging Waste Bioremediation after Pig Catcher failure (Tejas Gas) – Performed bio remediation of soil contaminated with pigging waste after a catcher failure in East Texas. Benzene and TPH levels were reduced sufficiently to allow the resultant material to be land farmed on site.
Compressor Station Soil Excavation (Tejas Gas, HPL) – Performed over ten (10) compressor station soil excavations involving, at times, hand digging around 600 psi lines. Confirmation testing and report preparation was often a part of the scope of work.
Pigging Waste (Tejas Gas, HPL, PG&E, El Paso) – Provide a wide range of options for pigging waste including: sampling, characterization, transportation, recovery, disposal and turn key management including containment area installation, frac tank rental, 24 hour coverage during operation. Size of projects has varied from one drum to over 150,000 gallons. Services have often included the decontamination of frac tanks used in the process prior to return to the vendor.
Decontamination and abandonment in place (HPL) – Decontaminated pipeline under a city street in Texas City, Texas so that it could be abandoned in place. Provided confirmation sampling and project documentation.
New Construction Gas Pipeline (El Paso) – Provided environmental inspectors for 30 mile expansion project (Stagecoach expansion project-Pennsylvania and New Jersey).
Decontamination and abandonment in place (HPL) – Decontaminated slug catcher in Texas City, Texas so that it could be abandoned in place. Provided confirmation sampling and project documentation.
Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) Remediation (TEPPCO) – Removed 800 foot of NORM contaminated pipe from a petroleum product transportation line at a closed separation facility.
Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) Surveys (TEPPCO, American Exploration/LDNG) – Performed numerous NORM surveys at oil and gas exploration and production facilities and on equipment used by this industry including pipe.
Condensate tank cleaning and recoating at various locations (HPL) – Removed and decontaminated condensate tanks in preparation for scrap or recoating and reuse in service.
Emergency response to a frac tank fire at a pigging station (Tejas Gas) – Provided first responder services to a frac tank fire at a pigging facility in East Texas. Utilized a trackhoe-mounted shearer to load and handle as scrap after decontamination of the frac tanks.
Mercury meter disassembly and decontamination with recovery and resale of the mercury (Tejas Gas) – Provided a fixed facility with restoration teams trained to dissemble and decontaminate mercury meters. All mercury was sold for recovery and reuse.
PCB Decontamination Projects – PCB decontamination projects have been successfully completed for the following companies and facilities:
- Consolidated Edison – New York
- General Motors – Fisher Body – Cleveland, Ohio
- Goodyear Tire and Rubber – Akron, Ohio
- Ohio Edison – Akron, Ohio
- Owens Corning – Newark, Ohio
- Ohio Transformer – Canton, Ohio
- NASA – Cleveland, Ohio
- General Tire – Akron, Ohio
- Monsanto – Alvin, Texas
- PPG – Allentown, Pennsylvania
